About Diana

Diana believes that all individuals are capable of change and worthy of growth, which she uses as the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. Diana takes a humanistic and systemic approach to therapy, with the view that examining and affecting the greater systems in an individual’s life can lead to change. Diana is passionate about supporting individuals and families in examining patterns that prevent growth while attempting to implement patterns to promote positive change.

Diana earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at West Chester University, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy at Temple University. She has worked clinically across many settings as a board-certified music therapist and a counselor. Diana has experience working at inpatient residential treatment facilities, addictions treatment facilities, hospice and palliative care, family-based programming, university counseling, and school-based counseling. Specialty areas of Diana’s include:

  • Children, adolescents, and young adults
  • Individuals struggling with grief and loss
  • Individuals struggling with addictions
  • Individuals struggling with transitions, specifically regarding “launching,” or children leaving the household
  • Individuals interested in using music, art, or play
  • Mindfulness and meditation

Specifically in her work with families, Diana utilizes the framework of eco-systemic family therapy which helps in understanding the way that multi-generational traumas and behaviors impact patterns of interaction and communication within families.

Due to her training as a music therapist, Diana feels that using creative mediums in sessions (such as music, art, and play) can support the exploration of maladaptive patterns and behaviors in individuals and families in a safe manner. She utilizes techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, with an emphasis on mindfulness, meditation, and imagery, and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when working with individuals and families.
